Launch of Mozambique LNG Project’s Local Content One Stop Shop in Cabo Delgado

Valige Tauabo, the Governor of the province of Cabo Delgado, inaugurated this morning the Mozambique LNG Project’s Local Content One Stop Shop in Pemba. The One Stop Shop aims to enhance local content by facilitating the dissemination of commercially relevant information, fostering business connections, empowering Mozambican companies and human resources, promoting commercial relationships, and integrating Mozambican businesses into the various business opportunities generated directly or indirectly by the Mozambique LNG project, operated by TotalEnergies EP Mozambique Area 1 Limited.

During the inauguration ceremony, the Governor of Cabo Delgado congratulated the Mozambique LNG Project for “the firm support to the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the Province of Cabo Delgado, as demonstrated by the conception of this platform, which signifies an additional capability to positively transform the relationship between major investments, the Provincial Government, and the local business community. Further, he emphasized that this infrastructure is important “not only for expanding institutional capacities to support the private sector but, more importantly, for representing another step towards restoring a better business environment.”

Stéphane Le-Galles, Senior Vice-President of Operations of Mozambique LNG stated: “Despite our Mozambique LNG project being under force majeure with construction operations currently suspended, we remain committed to investing in local content initiatives. This One Stop Shop marks another significant milestone in our CapacitaMoz initiative, which serves as a platform to contribute to multiple objectives, including the empowerment of Mozambican citizens. It represents another step forward in the implementation of our Local Content Strategy, aligned with the Government’s established Unique Local Content Program. In fact, this formally inaugurated One Stop Shop in Pemba has already demonstrated its value by engaging in various activities, including the implementation of a training program benefiting 25 local companies.
