With the Support of Mozambique LNG: CTA signs agreement with French business association EVOLEN

The Mozambique LNG Project, operated by TotalEnergies EP Mozambique Area 1 Limitada, in collaboration with the Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique (CTA) and the French business association EVOLEN, held today, in Paris, the second edition of the Mozambique – France Business Partnership Program, marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the CTA and EVOLEN and the seminar of information and experiences sharing between Mozambican and French companies. More than 40 companies from both countries participated in this event.

The Memorandum between the CTA and EVOLEN, which aims to encourage, facilitate and promote cooperation between economic agents and Mozambican and French institutions, covers the sharing of scientific, technical and economic information, the establishment of partnerships in the industrial, technological and commercial fields, as well as encouraging the development of business opportunities and supply chains.

The seminar was an opportunity for bilateral and multilateral meetings between national and foreign entrepreneurs, who shared information and experiences particularly in the fields of energy, logistics and transport, civil construction and the provision of general services.

The President of the CTA, Agostinho Vuma, stated that “the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the CTA and EVOLEN represents an important milestone in the sharing of information, in the implementation of annual events in Mozambique and in France, as well as the formalization of the relationship between the Mozambican and French entrepreneurial community. We hope this enables the identification and development of mutually advantageous business partnerships able to strengthen Mozambican companies’ aptness to enter the global market and to benefit from the enormous business opportunities that will arise in the country, particularly with the development of projects of gas and energy.”

For the President of Evolen, Jean Cahuzac, “this second business forum confirms what we saw at the first forum, last April: the prospects for Mozambique are very positive. Mozambique has all the ingredients to attract investment and technology transfer from France. There is a long-term vision with LNG projects that will last dozens of years and there is a policy that aims to guarantee local content by advocating partnerships and investments in the country to guarantee the longevity of the projects. We have every reason to be optimistic and confident of success. In this sense, the memorandum we signed with the CTA is particularly important, because we have created a general framework to build the future. It is important, therefore, that we follow up on the memorandum to develop concrete actions”.
