Young engineers benefit from training overseas

TechnipFMC, a Mozambique LNG contractor working on the project subsea scope of work, sends 12 young Mozambicans engineers to Brazil and Angola as part of a 1-year training program. The young graduates will be trained to become TSP (Technical Service Personnel). The course objective aims to train these engineers to attain technical skills that reinforce Mozambicans capacity to comply with the high technical requirements in Oil & Gas industry.

The training will support knowledge acquisition in offshore installation of subsea trees, manifolds, control modules and confirm skills through exposure to offshore environment.

Margarido Quive, who took part in the training in Brazil says:

“The actual hands-on is the best part of this training. This will help us building capabilities to start an oil and gas industry in our country, because Mozambique LNG it is one of the first projects, is got to be successful because is going to laid the foundation for oil and gas in Mozambique for many years to come.”

Another participant Reinalda Lucas says:

“This training will be useful to help in the development of my country and I will be able to share the knowledge acquired during the training with the groups that will make part of the TSP training program in future. In addition, this course will allow me to grow up professionally.”

TechnipFMC was awarded several subsea contracts by Total – Led Mozambique LNG Project for its Golfinho/Atum development offshore Mozambique.

This contractor will execute the offshore installation scope with its consortium partner Van Oord through their wholly owned United Arab Emirates incorporated subsidiary, Van Oord Gulf FZE, and in cooperation with strategic major subcontractor, Allseas.
